Kitchen Remodel

So we are in the process of upgrading our kitchen.  Its not way out of date but there are things that I just can't stand about it and want to change. 

Last year we painted the ceiling white, painted the walls Butter cream yellow, repainted all the trim and replaced that curtains.  I really wish I had taken pictures through out the project but it took us several days and we seemed to be in a zone.  Due to all that painting it really got us jazzed to do some more upgrades.

So here is what we are thinking about doing.
1. Change up the lighting in the kitchen
2. Add molding to the tops of the exposed cabinets
3. Remove the ugly laminate back splash and either replace with tile or just fix & repaint the wall
4. Pull up the ugly laminate flooring and see if the hardwood floors continue to the kitchen and hopefully refinish them.
5. Replace laminate countertop with a new Solid Surface countertop with under mount Stainless Steel Sink.
6. Replace faucet
7. Replace dishwasher*
8. Replace cabinet doors*
* only if budget allows

Last weekend we stopped at Menard's, Lowe's and Home Depot and picked up all the materials they had that we could take home.  Hopefully this week we will go out and try to narrow down counter top colors and possibly get quotes so that we know what to budget for.  I can't tell you how excited I am about this.  Our kitchen is super tiny and anything to update and make it more enjoyable is a plus to me.  I will try to keep you all posted and hopefully take pictures as we go.  Any idea and or suggestions are welcome as this is our first major remodel/upgrade we have done!
